Spotlight feature is used to spotlight a participant on the screen for all participants to see and pin the spotlighted user as the active speaker.
Alternatively, you can pin a participant's video on your own screen (pin video).This will not pin the user for other users.
Requirements
For Video Calls
- To be the Host
- Zoom desktop or mobile app
- There must be at least 3 participants with open cameras
For Webinars
- To be the Host
- Zoom PC application version 4.0.35295.0605 or higher
- Zoom Mac application version 4.0.35295.0605 or higher
- There must be at least 2 participants with open cameras
Instructions: Windows and Mac
1- Place the mouse cursor over the participant whose video you want to spotlight and click the (...)
2- Click the Spotlight Video button
To cancel the Spotlight video, click the Cancel the Spotlight Video button at the top left.You will be back in active speaker (or gallery) mode.
Spotlight when I speak
This feature makes your video stand out on your own screen.It can be especially useful if you record locally(In your own computer).
In order to activate this feature:
1- Sign in to the desktop application.
2- Click on your profile picture, then click the Settings button.
3- Click on the Video button.
4- Open the setting of Spotlight my video when I Speak .
Instructions: Linux
1- Place the mouse cursor over the participant whose video you want to spotlight and click the (...)
2- Click the Spotlight Video button
To cancel the Spotlight video, click the Cancel the Spotlight Video button at the top left.You will be back in active speaker (or gallery) mode.
Instructions: iOS
1- Click the Participants button. (This button will be at the top of the screen on the iPad and at the bottom on the iPhone.)
2- Click on the name of the participant you want to spotlight.
3- Click the Spotlight Video button.
To cancel the Spotlight video, repeat the same steps, then click the Cancel Spotlight Video button.
Instructions: Android

2- Click on the name of the participant you want to spotlight.
3- Click the Spotlight Video button.
